September 15th, 2007

Healing the Earth’s water with
sound and intention ~
A synchronized global event

PART 1: The Global OM
The World's Largest Synchronized Sound Event

At 4pm PST on September 15th, 2007 millions of people across the world will unite their voices to create the world's largest synchronized Global OM, uniting over 350 Earthdance locations in 60 countries.

This magic moment will be the highlight of the 11th annual Earthdance International peace festival, and will be the first time in recorded history that global participants will attune to a special specific frequency that is derived from the natural sound of the Earth itself (see below for more information).

PART 2 - H2Om (Honoring the Waters):
Healing the Earth’s Water with Sound & Intention

the gangesIn support of this the 2007 Earthdance International focus of "Honoring the Waters", The Global OM will be transmitted into the waters of several major rivers throughout the world via specially designed underwater speakers. These waterways include the Amazon, the Ganges, the Nile and the Mississippi. This gesture is our attempt to "homeopathically resonate" the Earth's water with our global intention of healing the water, and thus unite all life, on land and sea.

SPECIAL LAYTONVILLE INVITATION:

We are inviting all attendees of the Laytonville Festival to bring water from your local waterways to be blessed during this event. The waters will be combined, blessed and then redistributed to you so that you can return this blessed water back into the source from which you brought it.

“We Are All Water..
Water not only reacts to written words
but to music. . . .”
Yoko Ono

<< THE SYNCRONIZED GLOBAL OM >>
The H2Om project is an attempt to create the world’s largest synchronized global Om, which will take place on Saturday September 15th during the Earthdance international peace event. This year, the Earthdance “Prayer for Peace” will be followed by a unified global Om, as people across the world synchronize their voices with the intention of healing the Earth’s waters. To increase cohesiveness and provide a single, specific point of focus for the global community, the “Prayer for Peace” will be immediately followed by the recording of a fundamental tone (the specific human frequency of 125hz designed by Alex Theory Ph.D. and Dr. Patrick Flanagan), which will provide a foundation for participants to tune to. This note is also based on the Schumann Resonance, which is the consistent tone emitted by planet earth as discovered by Nasa.

In addition to this frequency that will be audible on land, we intend to transmit the same frequency (via specially designed under water speakers) to several major sacred rivers throughout the world (Amazon, Ganga, Nile, etc.) This gesture will be an attempt to “homeopathically resonate” the Earth’s water body with our global intention, and thus unite all life, both on land and sea.

In the coming months, we will have a new MP3 recording of the "prayer for peace" with the tone of the Global Om on our website, that you can download for free.

<< THE COMMUNITY WATER BLESSING >>
As part of our "honouring the waters" theme, we are also inviting all festival attendees to bring an offering of natural water from their local area (or travels) which they will add to a special "community urn" on site. At a designated moment during the festival the water will be blessed in a special ceremony by indigenous elders. The "urn" will also be placed on the stage in the middle of the main bowl and will become the "sacred centerpiece" for the community prayer for peace link up and global Om. The "urn" will also contain water from many of the world's sacred rivers, including the Ganges, The Nile, The Amazon, The Murray Darling in Australia and the Rhine in Europe. Offered by Native American elder, Agnus Baker Pilgrim, these "sacred waters", have been collected during her many years of travel across the planet.

At the end of the festival, attendees will be invited to take a sample of the "blessed water" back to their local water source, thus completing a cycle and affirming the intention of renewal and healing for the waters of our planet.

So please bring some natural water from your local area or from a sacred place you feel drawn to, and join us in the community ceremony of "honouring the waters".

<< WATER: THE FACTS >>
Since time immemorial, water has been one of the Earth’s most precious elements. It is essential to all known forms of life, and covers nearly 71% of the Earth's surface. Due to its depth, the Earth’s water encompasses about 300 times the habitable volume of the terrestrial habitats on our planet and contains the largest proportion of all life.

Just as our ancestors evolved within this primordial oceanic womb of the Earth, human life continues to grow in an almost identical environment, within the amniotic fluid of the womb. Even after we are born, water comprises 70% of the total mass of our bodies, and we carry it with us until the day we die.
It is an understatement to say that water is precious.

Because of overpopulation, mass consumption, misuse, and water pollution, the availability of clean water per capita is inadequate and shrinking as of the year 2006. Currently, about 1 billion people around the world routinely drink unhealthy water, and some 5 million deaths a year are caused by polluted drinking water. UNESCO's World Water Development Report (WWDR, 2003) indicates that, in the next 20 years, the quantity of clean water available to everyone is predicted to decrease by 30%.

<< THE MISSION >>
The only positive side to these catastrophic circumstances is the fact that environmental crisis may be acting as a catalyst for profound social change. Currently, we are being challenged to find new and sustainable ways to live on this planet. At this point, we have very little choice: either we adapt or we perish. This realization confirms that we are on the horizon of a new paradigm of consciousness; a time when we will harness the power of technology to heal the planet.

<< THE SCIENCE OF SOUND AND WATER >>
Evidence of this new paradigm is rapidly emerging in the field of environmental restoration. Many cities around the globe are using progressive technologies to clean the environment. In Europe, scientists are using sound waves to clean air pollution. Similar techniques can be used to affect the structure of water molecules, which are known to be highly receptive. Most commonly, factors such as heat, cold, and pressure, in addition to chemical methods (such as oxidation and camphor type additives), have been used to change the structure of water. However, in the last century, several discoveries have revolutionized this idea and opened the door to a whole new set of possibilities.

One of these discoveries, called “Cymatics”, was pioneered by a Swiss scientist named Hans Jenny. Cymatics, the study of wave phenomena, is typically associated with the physical patterns produced through the interaction of sound waves in a medium. By using specific frequencies, it is possible to create complex, replicable patterns in sand, water, and a virtually any particulate matter. One of Jenny's more complex experiments involved a spherical vibrating water droplet containing fine particles. By applying sound waves, these particles formed into a 3-Dimensional star (or dual) tetrahedron shape with surrounding circles similar to the one shown below. Many of the shapes produced by the application of Cymatics have similarities to snowflakes, sacred geometric patterns, traditional mandalas, and crop circle designs.

To the amazement of most scientists, the definition of liquid water has not yet been fully established and its atomic model is still incomplete. Any particular accumulation of liquid water can contain an almost limitless number of other molecules, so it can express a near infinite number of possible atomic configurations. This must be one of the reasons why it was chosen to be the supporting structure for the Matrix of life. Water's ability to fill up and fit any shape makes it the perfect material to provide the diverse forms required to transport living organisms around in space. All material objects are simply water held together in unique forms.

Some interesting research in Japan, conducted by Dr. Masaru Emoto, has suggested that water may be receptive to words, sounds, and thoughts in the environment. According to Emoto, water can receive information and store it for future use, much like the silicon used in computer chips. This theory has interesting implications for the uses of collective consciousness toward the global effort to restore harmony in the environment. Is it possible to harmonize the energy field of our planet by focusing our voices and intentions in a vast global effort.

<< THE PLANETARY TONE >>
Due to observations of the spectrum peaks in the extremely low frequency (ELF) portion of the Earth's electromagnetic field spectrum, it has become apparent that the Earth emits a consistent frequency. This frequency, known as the Schumann Resonance, corresponds to approximately 7.8125hz and is created by the excitation of terrestrial stationary waves by lightning strikes.

Scientific analysis has confirmed that many species of animals are affected by the Schumann Resonance, including humans. Recent studies have identified the most common resonant frequency of the human voice to be 125hz. This frequency is an exact harmonic (16th octave) of the Schumann Resonance.

<< CONCLUSION >>
In the past, there have been several attempts to perform a “Global Om”. However, we believe the H2Om project will be the largest and most advanced attempt to date, uniting new paradigm science with a massive global audience. The H2Om project will also be supported by several major international peace organizations, including World Puja, James Twyman, and many more. This effort, in combination with the fact that we will be using a specific frequency, and transmitting this frequency throughout the entire planet, will make the H2Om event a truly unprecedented experience.

Since an initiative of this caliber has never been accomplished, the extent of the positive influence created by this event has yet to be determined. However, we believe that even a tiny dose of collective consciousness may help tip the scales in favor of global balance.

Regardless of the outcome, we are confident that by raising awareness about the need to preserve our precious natural resources of Water, we will take a step toward the betterment of our Earth’s environment, and improve the livelihood of countless future generations.

The Divine Comedy
hosted by Wavy Gravy Saturday Night (September 15) in the Diner Divine

Presenting for the second year at Earthdance - "The Divine Comedy" sessions, hosted by legendary activist clown Wavy Gravy with special guest Paul Krassner. Join us for a belly full of laughs, featuring two of the most respected counter-culture comics in the nation and feast on some delicious diner munchies supplied by Café Mam. This festival gem is not to be missed.

"Like the best of clowns, Wavy Gravy will make as big a fool of himself as is necessary to make a wiser man of you. He is one of the better people on earth."

-- Ron Rosenbaum,
Village Voice
Wavy Gravy has lived a life filled with excitement, adventure, and philanthropy. He was a part of the Beat movement in the late 1950s, hanging out in Greenwich Village with hipsters and folk singers like Paul Krassner, Lenny Bruce, and Bob Dylan. He was a comedian and a comic actor, working for a time at the Committee (San Francisco's equivalent to Chicago's Second City ). By 1966, he was one of Ken Kesey's Merry Pranksters and living on a mountain top commune near L.A. called the Hog Farm. After a time, the Hog Farm took to the road with its members living in a fleet of converted school buses and traveling the country protesting the Vietnam War. Wavy Gravy achieved his first 15 minutes of fame when he declared from the stage at Woodstock, "What we have in mind is breakfast in bed for 400,000."

Wavy has filled his days with an endless list of benefits and worthy causes, including the Seva Foundation, Home Aid (for the homeless), Cowboys for Indians (for Native Americans), Blues Against Blindness and more. He also co-founded the legendary camp Winnarainbow for children with is wife Jahanara and has spent countless hours spent in children's hospital ward. He is addicted to helping people, and his enthusiasm is contagious.

The Los Angeles Times comments:

He has the uncanny ability to alter your perceptions permanently.

Paul Krassner calls himself an investigative satirist. Don Imus labeled him “one of the comic geniuses of the 20th century.” And, According to the Los Angeles Reader, “Krassner delivers 90 minutes of the funniest, most intelligent social and political commentary in town.” When People magazine called Krassner “Father of the underground press,” he immediately demanded a paternity test. His style of personal journalism constantly blurred the line between observer and participant.

He has been a guest on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher; on Air America Radio with Janeane Garofalo and with Marc Maron. He hosted his own radio call-in show in San Francisco. The San Francisco Examiner: “Krassner is absolutely compelling. He has lived on the edge so long he gets his mail delivered there.”

Awaken Our Shamanic Voices and Sacred Soul Purpose

presented by Akasa Teng

In the midst of accelerating changes happening at the multi-dimensional levels in our personal and planetary realities, shamanic wisdom and tools can help us realize our sacred soul purpose and our role as a divine living conduit connecting to heaven and earth. In this ceremonial workshop, we will use the ancient Shamanic Technique of Ecstasy, the shamanic vocalization to evoke the shamanic state of consciousness and connect to the Great Spirit. Based on the integration of many shamanic traditions including Taiwanese/Chinese shamanic lineage, Lakota tradition, Celtic shamanism, Amazonian tradition and more, we will enter a sacred ceremony and shamanic voice journey to clarify, reclaim and empower our individual and collective sacred soul purpose for the planetary healing, transformation and empowerment.

About the presenter: Akasa Teng, M.A. Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness, is a shamanic sound practitioner, universal sound ceremonialist and interfaith minister who uses shamanic techniques to raise individual and planetary vibrations. Akasa has shared her work internationally including conferences at Society for Shamanic Practitioners, The International Conference of the Study of Shamanism and Alternative Modes of Healing, in Oxford University, and the National Association for Humanity Education in U.C. Berkeley. Akasa recently completed a shamanic journey in the Amazon rainforest.

Rise to the Equation
A Special Audio-Visual presentation

Presented by Nassim Haramein

Nassim HarameinQuantum Scientist, Nassim Haramein shows us that his new all-encompassing theory seems to have parallels with ancient codes left in the world’s oldest documents and monuments. These include the Bible, the Koran, the Torah, the I Ching, the Mayan Tzolkn, and the ancient pyramids and temples around the world. Much like the path taken by Isaac Newton, Haramein’s theory was influenced by his exhaustive study of ancient civilizations, which revealed that they already possessed this knowledge and used it to accomplish many unexplained feats, such as building the Pyramids and constructing Stonehenge. Haramein’s work has far-reaching implications for all fields of scientific enquiry from theoretical physics, cosmology, quantum mechanics, biology, geology and chemistry, archaeology and anthropology as well as fundamental answers to the nature of consciousness.

Singing the Sacred Road
An intimate sharing with Sheila Chandra

Shelia ChandraJoin internationally acclaimed singer Sheila Chandra as she shares moments from her life’s journey with sacred sound. Her breathtaking vocals and unusual approach to songwriting have distinguished her as a world-class talent if not quite a household name. She began her career at 16, fronting the internationally acclaimed Anglo-Asian synth-pop outfit Monsoon. From there, she established herself as a solo artist, tapping into her Indian ancestry for both musical and spiritual inspiration, and creating exotic works that wove wordless vocals with dreamy raga-like synthesized sounds. She was championed by Peter Gabriel, who released four of her albums on his Real World label. Since then she has sold hundreds of thousands of albums and has performed worldwide.

Join Sheila Chandra for a rare and intimate appearance on Sunday afternoon in the Temple dome, where she will share stories from her life's journey with sacred music. She will also perform on Sunday night in the electronica dome.
